Cheap & Easy Baby Shower & Room Decoration

When I was planning my daughter’s baby shower, I was looking for a decoration that would look great & take up a lot of space above the main table. I came across Martha Stewart’s Tissue Paper Pom Pom’s. (Martha, I am not.)  They reminded me so much of the tissue paper flowers I used to make when I was little.

I made a bunch for the baby shower and then decided to hang some of them above the crib in Kyleigh’s room.  She loves to look at them when she’s trying to go to sleep. The ceiling fan gives off just enough air to make them dance around.

Who wants to win a blankie?

Soon, BaaBaaBlankies will have a new addition. You will be able to add adorable appliqués underneath baby’s name. I’m having a REALLY hard time coming up with a fabulous name for these clever cuties so I’m calling on you. The Blankie Fan that comes up with the winning name for them will win a completely FREE baby sized blanket in the fabric of your choice (must be in stock : no find my fabric option, double minky fabric can be used). Your blanket will come with an appliqué of your choice, 5 ribbon loops, free gift wrap and free shipping to you or the recipient as well. This is a $61 prize value. You may use your winning blankie order any time. You don’t need to build your blanket now.  Feel free to save it for the next baby on your list (or for when the new fabric arrives).

Comment to this blog post through 10pm est on 9/14/2010 with the name you come up with for these appliqués. I’ve heard “blankie badges” and am looking for something similar, not a name for each individual design. I may or may not use the winning name for these appliqués but I WILL choose 1 winner with the 2nd opinion of an outside source, regardless. Feel free to post as many names as you want. Only names posted in the comments section here are eligible to win. Please do not post them on Facebook or email them.

I have to be able to find you if you win so please register with an email address when commenting so that I can award you your prize. Your personal information will never be sold, given away, traded or used for anything other than this contest. I take pride in taking care of my customers (and potential future customers :) )

A winner will be announced on 9/15/2010 here and on Facebook. Be sure to check and see if it’s you.

Please be polite. This is meant to be fun.  I have the final say should any questionable circumstances arise.

Here’s a sample of a few of the appliqués that will be available :
